F.A.Q's
We know starting therapy can come with questions. This page is here to help you feel informed, supported, and seen whether you’re exploring your first session or returning to care after time away. If your question isn’t answered here, reach out to us directly. You deserve clarity, always.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
At The Therapeutic Couch, we do not accept insurance and have intentionally chosen to remain out of network. This allows us to protect your privacy, your pace, and the direction of your care. Therapy should not be dictated by insurance companies. Upon request, we can provide a superbill for potential reimbursement, but we cannot guarantee coverage. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to learn more about out-of-network benefits.
DO YOU OFFER A SLIDING SCALE FEE?
Yes, we offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on availability. We believe access to healing should never be out of reach. Our sliding scale rates are thoughtfully structured to support those navigating financial hardship while still receiving culturally grounded, high-quality care.
HOW LONG WILL I BE IN THERAPY?
Therapy looks different for every woman. Some clients prefer short-term support, while others benefit from a longer therapeutic relationsip. We revisit your goals every few months and tailor the journey to meet your emotional, relational, and functional needs. Healing isn’t a race, it’s a rhythm.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY DISCOVERY CALL?
Before your Discovery Call, you’ll complete a brief questionnaire to help us better understand your needs. When you arrive, just bring your full self honestly, that’s all we ask. This is your space. You don’t need to come perfect you just need to come as you are.
CAN I CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT IF NEEDED?
We get it, life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for 24 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled late or missed without notice will be charged the full session fee. Your time is sacred, and so is ours. We’re committed to holding space for you, and we appreciate you doing the same.
WILL OUR SESSIONS BE CONFIDENTIAL?
